How to Report Inappropriate Content on TikTok

Keeping the TikTok community safe is a shared responsibility. If you see content that you believe violates the rules, reporting it is the most effective way to alert the moderation team. Here’s a clear guide on how to report videos, accounts, and comments.
1. How to Report a Video or LIVE Stream
This is for content that is harmful, misleading, or violates TikTok's Community Guidelines.
While watching the video or LIVE, tap the Share button (it looks like a curved arrow).
In the bottom row of options, swipe left and tap on the Report icon (it looks like a flag).
Select the reason for the report (e.g., Harassment, Hate speech, Spam). Follow the on-screen instructions to provide more details and submit.
2. How to Report a User Account
If an entire account is dedicated to posting harmful content or impersonating someone, you can report the whole profile.
Go to the user's profile page.
Tap the three dots (⋯) icon in the top-right corner of the screen.
Select Report from the menu.
Choose the reason you are reporting the account (e.g., "Posting inappropriate content" or "Impersonation").
3. How to Report a Specific Comment
If you see a comment that is abusive, spam, or inappropriate, you can report it directly.
Find the comment you want to report.
Press and hold on the comment until a menu pops up.
Tap Report and select the most relevant reason.
What Happens Next?
After you submit a report, TikTok's moderation team will review it. You can check the status of your reports in your "Report records" by going to: Settings and privacy > Support > Safety Center > Report records.
