1. Set a Daily Screen Time Limit
This feature allows you to set a daily time limit for using TikTok. Once you reach the limit, you'll need to enter a passcode to continue using the app, which is a great reminder to take a break.
Go to Profile > ☰ (Menu) > Settings and privacy.
Tap on Digital Wellbeing.
Select Daily Screen Time, set your preferred limit (e.g., 60 minutes), and create a passcode to secure the setting.
2. Schedule Screen Time Breaks
Instead of a daily limit, you can set reminders to take a break after a period of uninterrupted screen time. This helps prevent mindless scrolling.
In the Digital Wellbeing menu, tap on Screen Time Breaks.
Choose a time interval (e.g., after 20 minutes of continuous use).
The app will pop up a reminder to take a break once you hit that interval.
3. Activate Restricted Mode
Restricted Mode limits the appearance of content that may not be appropriate for all audiences. This is an excellent tool for younger users or anyone who wants a more filtered experience.
In the Digital Wellbeing menu, select Restricted Mode.
Tap "Turn on" and set a passcode. This passcode is required to turn the mode off, ensuring the setting remains active.
